Hi NWDI Expers

need help to fix my transport issues.

I am about to activate all the developed activities and found that the Used DCs are broken in CBS and our activites are not getting activated.

I am able to build and deploy manually from NWDS and check in the code no issues, activation is not happening.

How can I fix the used DCs? the SCs are giving this issue they are given by SAP, standard Software Components.

Which are already in our track, imported to Development, Consolidation already.

BOBJ services pointing to old NWDI Server

Hello,

We have recently upgrade our SAP Portal environment to NW 7.3 SP6, SAP MDM server to 7.01 SP10 and NWDI system was moved to a new server, also to upgraded to NW 7.3. In the custom code developed, have used BOBJ data services for normalization.

When we do the Web Dynpro code migration to NW 7.3, for some reason BOBJ data service system tries to connect back to our old NWDI server. (error msg: No Web service client found in ). The WSDL opens without any error.

Appreciate if anyone could provide the solution.

Thanks & Regards,

Copied Standard DC built but no war generated

Hello experts,

I am having the following while trying to copy and build a DC (copied from a standard one): the copied DC is built but there is no war file. I used the following procedures copying from a standard DC.

1. Create a new DC with a custom namespace in DC perspective (J2ee 1.4 web module)

2. Copy the _comp folder from the standard DC the created new DC in the workspace folder

3. In Navigator view, modify the .project file and war.pp with the new name.

4. Check to make sure all dependencies are the same as the standard one

5. Refresh the custom DC

6. Back to the DC view and build.

The build log shows built successful but there is no war file in the gen folder. I noted that a few things are missing from the gen folder compared the the standard DC. Something not getting generated plus the war. One of this is pulicfieldlist file.

I think some configuration files need to be changed after the copying but not sure what. Can anyone recommend what need to be done and what is the best practice when there is a need to copy a standard DC for customization?

Thanks and much appreciated.

Hello Experts,
We are migrating tracks from 7.0 to 7.31 ,
We have followed the following procedure to do the same.

1)Downloaded the SC from old NWDI and imported to the new one

2)after creating a track we added the imported SC and added 7.31 relevant dependencies(

SAP_BUILDT

EP_BUildT

ENGFACADE

FRAMEWORK

WD-RUNTIME

COMP_BUILDT

ECM-CORE

ESCONF_BUILDT

ESF

MOIN_BUILDT

ENGINEAPI)

3) Added .SCA files related to these std SC in inbox folder

4)Updated CMS

5)Check in the SC (Std and Custom) till assembly

6)Now when i go to CMS and see i find  various DC to be broken and few dirty few metadata ,used DC in Red signal.

Kindly suggest where we are going wrong.

Thanks ,

com.sap.tc.buildplugin.pp.PackException: No WEB-INF folder found.

Hello Experts,

We are doing an upgrade from CRM 7 to CRM 7 EHP2 on NW 7.3.  We have created new track for upgrade and followed all upgrade related steps for importing SCAs into the new track.  We have also resolved the DTR conflicts, now in the process of building the custom application in local J2EE system. When we are trying to build SHRWEB-crm/isa/web/b2b, getting the following error:

  1. com.sap.tc.buildplugin.pp.PackException: No WEB-INF folder found.

Please find attached complete build.log files.  Also when I created project, it has prompted for ‘Migration’ as I m using NW 7.3 and SAPJVM 6.  I migrated due to which WEBINF folder is deleted from root and placed into webcontent as shown below screenshot (is this expected behavior?)

Requesting for your expert advice here, Kindly suggest to get rid of the above error.  I could create/build other projects like b2c, useradmin etc successfully but I face problem only with b2b.

Thanks!

Try to install NetWeaver Developer Workplace 7.02

Hi,

I tried to install NWDW based on NetWeaver Release 7.02. I have found the following installation guide:

https://websmp107.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000029522013E/devworkplace_lkg70x.pdf

I downloaded all software mentioned there:

- MS SQL (RDBMS MSSQLSRV 2008 R2 incl. SP1, 51044827),

- Software Provisioning Manager (70SWPM10SP02_3-20009707.sar),

- Developer Workplace (NW 7.0 EHP2 Dev. WP for SWPM, 51045450),

- SAPCAR (SAPCAR_315-20010453.EXE), and

- JSPM and software components (CRMDIC & SHRAPP) that I want to deploy later on the JEE server.

I unpacked everything in separate directories: mssql_extracted, swpm_extracted, and nwdw_extracted.

From there I installed first MS SQL.

Then I tried to install NW Developer Workplace by means of Software Provisioning Manager. But when starting sapinst.exe from directory swpm_extracted, it does not offer me developer workplace like described in the installation guide. I could not find it anywhere in the software delivery tool gui.

Any hint how I can add it there or install it?

Thanks in advance,

Br,

Hi,

How do i set the timezone in my NWDI server. This might be more J2EE server setting question.

When I researched all my answers point to the server date and time settings. My NWDI server's windows time is set to EST but i still see the times which are 4 hours ahead in my logs ex. CBS->Requests->Advanced Search and hit "Search". Click on the "View log" for a request.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi,

We are using SAP NWDS 7.3 SP09 and according to it's help for configuring NWDS to connect to the SLD that contains NWDI landscape information, we are to:

Choose Window Preferences Development Infrastructure LandscapeDirectory .

However after clicking on Window->Preference we have no 'Development Infrastructure' option available to us.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

We are completely new to NWDI & NWDS so forgive us for missing something glaringly obvious !!!!

Hello,

I read the solution for the discussion http://scn.sap.com/thread/2079515.

Now I have the same problem, but we used the SAPJVM_4 on the NWDI 7.01.

The location is JAVA_HOME=/usr/sap/<SID>/JC00/exe/sapjvm_4 on AIX server.

Do I have to install SAPJVM_6 on NWDI 7.01? Can I copy it from the SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.3?

And then set the settings describt in disc. 2079515?

Thanks for help

SAP Biller direct - Creating development configuration in NWDI 7.3

$

Hi all,

I'm completely new to NWDI & NWDS and have been asked to assess the feasibility of making changes to the Biller Direct front-end using both. So far I've read a lot of forums, blogs and oss notes but they have, as usual, thrown up more questions than they answered.

The following are the steps I've taken to try to make custom changes to biller direct in NWDS but it isn't working as I cannot create a new development component in NWDS for my development configuration as all DC type options are greyed out.

Can anyone point out where i've gone wrong please:

Creating a Stand-alone development configuration:

  1. Specify SLD URL, with admin username and password
  2. Specify Repository Location and Build tool location
  3. No runtime system specified
  4. No development configuration path specified
  5. Specify communication user and password
  6. Specify outbox and inbox
  7. Add software component FSCM_BD (Version 6.05) and 'To be developed' checkbox is ticked
  8. Save Development configuration (name: BDDEMO1)

Development Studio:

  1. Open Development infrastructure perspective
  2. Import development configuration BDDEMO1 from SLD
  3. Right-click on FSCM_BD (under BDDEMO1 not Local development) to create new development component but all options are greyed out

So what have I missed?

Should I be doing something with DTR and CBS?

Do I need additional SCA's?

What is the correct DC type for Biller direct in NWDS?

All help greatly appreciated.

Declan

Hi

We are getting the following error whenever we are trying to assemble the ESS Components in our NWDI server. We had to reboot entire server several times and then retry to fix the issue. Restarting the server all the time is not a good option and would like to know if anyone has experienced the same issue.

error: VcmFailure received: Precondition Failed "concurrency-lock-denied":communication error: VcmFailure received: Precondition Failed "concurrency-lock-denied"

com.sap.cms.tcs.interfaces.exceptions.TCSCommunicationException: communication error: VcmFailure received: Precondition Failed "concurrency-lock-denied"

Appreciate your quick help

'Reset to original' for previously modified SC, or remove NWDI control

$

Some while back we had modifications to both SAP_ESS and SAP_MSS in our Portal system, and of course we have used NWDI to track and manage those modifications during support pack applications.  However, we have since dropped the modifications to MSS, using the SAP-delivered code instead, although we still are keeping some ESS modifications.  I would like to be able to drop the status of 'modified' for the SAP_MSS component so that I no longer have to wait for length NWDI imports to get updates into our systems and instead can just let JSPM do its work.  In the past I successfully managed to do this for SAPPCUI_GP, but I no longer can seem to figure out how to achieve this end.

Our portal is on 7.01 sps10 (currently moving to sps13), and the ESS component is 603 sp10 (moving to sp12; the backend ERP system is 604 sps10 going to sps13).  The MSS component is 600 sp20 (moving to sp21).  The NWDI system is also on 7.01 sps13.

Starting with our sandbox portal, I redefined the associated NWDI track so that SAP_MSS was no longer marked as developed SC.  I kicked things off in JSPM, using the support package stack option, with the system under NWDI control as a DEV/CONS system.  Everything worked fine, except that both SAP_ESS and SAP_MSS were recognized as modified and therefore not deployed by JSPM.  JSPM is now at 7.01 sp13 pl0 (though internally it reports itself as sp12 pl0, so there must not have been any change from sp12 to sp13).

I thought I would now be clever and restart JSPM using the single support packages option, as in the past this has allowed me to overwrite a modified SC with the SAP-delivered one.  No dice.  JSPM still insists MSS is a modified component and will not allow deployment except via NWDI.

Ok, fine.  It's a sandbox.  I can afford to get rough, though I prefer not to, as the idea here is to figure out what I'm going to do in the DEV, TEST, and PROD systems later.   Anyway, following the instructions in Note 1462405 (Remove NWDI Control of SAP AS Java for JSPM / SUM), I removed the runtime system from the track, and then restarted JSPM.   This didn't work; JSPM still insists that the system is under NWDI control and won't let me deploy the SC.  I restarted the SDM and tried again, with no change (actually, I had to restart the SDM after removing the RTS from the track before JSPM could even logon).

After more searching, I found Note 1147113 (JSPM: This system is not under NWDI control), and followed those instructions.  In the Jspm.JSPM.DataModel.xml file, sure enough I found the 'nwdiRole' setting still at 'DEV(2)' and the 'nwdiSystem' setting at 'true', so I edited the file per the Note, changing the values to 'NOT_NWDI(0)' and 'false' respectively.  I then tried JSPM again, but it still insists the system is under NWDI control.  I restarted the SDM after confirming my edits in the xml file, and tried again.  It doesn't work.

Per Note 1632696 and SDN Thread 1646379, I deleted the three 'DataModel' files so that JSPM would re-initialize the model from scratch, but it still thinks it's an NWDI-controlled system, and the newly recreated DataModel file doesn't even have a reference to NWDI control at all.  Clearly the 7.01 version of JSPM is not getting this information from these xml files, and it is not getting it from NWDI; it's persisting it somewhere else.

Does anyone have any idea where that somewhere else might be?  Or how to get JSPM to 'forget' that it once was an NWDI-controlled system?  Or if not that, to simply allow me to "reset to original" on a Software Component (similar to what we can do in SPAU and SPDD)?

Best regards,

Matt

How to reset status in JSPM for component modified by NWDI

$

Hello,

We have a E-Commerce landscape connected to NWDI. One of the standard software components was initially modified by the developers through NWDI. Later on, the component was excluded from deployment. Now, when we try to update the component through JSPM, it shows that "local version modified by NWDI" which would prevent JSPM from updating the component. Similarly, as the component has been excluded from deployment in CMS, it cannot be updated through CMS also. We donot need any of the initial changes made to the component.

Is there anyway to reset the status of the component so that we can update it using JSPM?

thanks

Does NWDI 7.2 support applications on portal 7.02 and portal 7.3

Hi,

I have NWDI installed on NW 7.20. I also have portal on NW 2004s and portal on NW7.30. Can NWDI handle the development track for applications on portal 7.02? At the same time, use same NWDI to handle the development track for applications on portal 7.3?

If it does, what special configurations I should pay attention? Any documents to follow?

Thanks in advance.
