Hello everybody,
I need to change my user for NWDI, but i checked the checkbox "Save Password" some time ago which now causes the problem that I cannot change my account anymore since I don't see the logon-dialog which should normaly pops up when I check in an activity or activite some of my activities.
How can I delete the username and the password so that NWDS prompts me again?

I'm building a NW 7.4 PO landscape with NWDI integration.
A few clarifications around it.
During the install of PO, is asks to check box a intergration into NWDI landscape.
Do I need to have the NWDI infrastructure built first?
If not, Do I need to check mark this because I will have one?
if i don't check it, can i make or turn on the changes later? or is it only done at installation?
Last question, Can NWDI exist on the same server as SAP PO? If so, would you put it on DEV? I guess it also depends on SLD configurations?

I created a track in NWDI(the NWDI track creation is successful),imported this track in NWDS, created a helloworld dc, built and deployed on the local server. I checked in the activity and activated successfully. When i try to import the track in another NWDS(different
system, and the DC build fails with the error -com.sap.tc.buildplugin.util.BuildPluginException: No javac found for JDK home path 'C:\j2sdk1.4.2_13-x64\bin'.
I have maintained the required CBS properties in VA and also in Build Variant for the track.
Can you please help me to resolve this issue?
The version of NWDS - 7.02.11.
I have also tried to apply the SAP Note - 1321274 - DC Build: No JDK_HOME_PATH defined, but did not resolve the issue.

I have installed the NWDS 7.3 in my machine, i am facing a problem that its asking for the username and password repetedly.
When ever i open the NWDS, when i add the SAP as Java etc.

By mistake, we triggerd the import for the released activities from Dev to consolidation track and the import running for a long time and it is failed with the below error. Refer the attachment.

NOTE: The CBS Web UI is not accessible from the landscape configurator and it is ending with the 500 connection time out error.

We have fixed the error in the DC and activated the new activity. Now there are no errors in the DC (no dirty DCs).
But still the import is not successful.
We have tried by Start and Stop the CBS service and it didn't make any difference

I am trying to patch a SAP NW CE 7.2 system from SP1 to SP8.I had issues for 2 software components while trying to patch using the standard patching tool JSPM.
So I thought of patching just those 2 components using another tool - SUM- Software Update Manager.
In this tool it gives me an error - Cannot detect NWDI system role. On the JSPM screen it says "System is not under NWDI control" which is correct.The guy who had installed this system has also included the usage type DI which was not needed in the first place.No initial configuration NWDI have been ever performed on this system and still while JSPM is not complaining on the NWDI role,SUM is complaining. Do I have to do some initial setup wrt NWDI component so that SUM will pick the right NWDI role.

After checked-in the activity was not appear in activation view, i then went to NWDI infrastructure, and activated from DC track.
But i didn't see the activity in Transport view to release it. It is saying old version (its already released).
Please do help out on the same. How do i get release my activity which is not showing in Transport view.
Is there any way to find the activity and able to release it. It is causing an issue to unable to change again my DC.
Because its already in check-in activity but not released yet.

But i see that that same RequestID(xxxxx) is showing as request statu " SUCCESSED" and Type = Active.
is there any way i can solve this issue?

Hi ,
I working with NWDS 7.31.
I have some problems trying to connect the NWDI from the NWDS :
1. After I log on to NWDI I cant change the user.
2. Sometimes I get an error "User/Password in invalid or expired" even though the details OK. In this case I can enter only after I remove the configuration.
Is it a bug?
How can I switch users ?
How to do "log off" from the NWDI ?

we have a requirement where we need to move the 20 DC's from a Track A with 7.1 components to a Track B with 7.4 components. Both the tracks are in the same SLD which is on 7.1. I have searched the SCN but could not find the thread, wiki which can help me.We tried to use DC Tool but no luck my server crashes after some time.Both the tracks had different Software Components , track name and vendor name. We don't want to change the actual DC name.
Please suggest a solution.

Hi experts,
I need to backup the Software Components in a DC.
What I know is that when I sync the sources of a Software Component, it is saved in my .dtc folder.
Is this correct? This is the first time I would need to do this so I am not sure if it is correct.

We have NWDI 7.0 with multiple JDKs supporting 7.3 and 7.0 tracks.
In CBS Visual Admin, we have default path set for JDK 1.4
But when we Create Project in NWDS for 7.0 track, we are getting Unsupported major.minor version 49.0 error.
Please help me how we can resolve this issue.

But still when I try to login to DEV INFRA , NWDS is pointing to old link.

I was having problems with a component it gets corrupted I guess and I've deleted it (I never checked-in it) as follows:
Then I'm trying to create a component with the same name and the wizard gives an error: Component "XXXXX" already exists in compartment "YYYY_1"
Do I have to perform some other activities for deletion?

It frustrates me to have to ask for detailed instruction on this issue, but normal means of importing these Java-based EC software archives just aren't working in our NWDI system. We never moved our production WDJ applications to CE (like so many others we jumped straight from NW7.01 to NW7.3) but I'm doing my part to come up to speed on composition projects. No matter how we create the NWDI track and import the software archives and dependencies, we can't get to a state where we can successfully import a project (product?) from the Development Infrastructure into the Composite Explorer perspective.
I need to know specifically how I, an experienced WDJ developer with no exposure to CE, can take the five .SCA files that contain Environmental Compliance 3.0 and get the project into my NWDS 7.31 workspace in a workable state, on my local system, without NWDI. Actual code modifications can wait for the moment, I just need to analyze the classes and EJB's to identify where we might want to make enhancements, and where/how to use the provided Enhancement Spots. I've followed the links, downloaded the .pdf's, read the online help, stepped thru the tutorials - I've done my due dilligence. It's common knowledge that Composition Environment is no longer recommended for new development, and as the EH&S programs are converted to WDA there are even fewer resources to look to.
These specific types of pleas don't often return results, as I have learned over my years in this community, but nothing ventured-nothing gained, and I am no longer afraid of looking dumb or being scolded. I just need help.

We recently tried to change the DTR repository properties file, according to SAP NOTE: 1001509.
After performing the process mentioned in this note, we noticed this particular repository.properties file has the wrong content (I downloaded the file from online NWDI - DTR and this caused the file to include HTML Tags and replacing the Key/Value pairings with a different keyset).
This caused the DTR to not fully function; for example we cannot checking any activities anymore. Whenever we try to restart the DTR application in the Web AS, we get a NumberformatException on multiple Key/Values in this repository.properties file.
At this moment, we are not capable of changing this repository.properties file since we cannot checkin activities.
We also tried to replace the repository.properties file on UX, but we now believe (since this file is also version controlled) it is only contained in the NWDI Database.
I've included the error trace DTR pushes out;the current repository.properties file (wrong one) and the correct repository.properties we wish to have in place.
This is a very challenging topic for our teams to solve.
Anybody up for an idea?

Hi guys, I´m trying to set my NWDI activity into a transport via Transport Organizer UI but I have an issue with my activity owner. The activity was created with the NWDI user Administrator, when I try to select/create a CTS transport from Transport Organizer UI, the user is mapped as "Administato" with no R, obviously the user "Administrato" is not the same in NWDI and in the CTS transport system, how I can do in order to release my activity in a CTS transport !?
