Issue in NWDS 7.0.18

Hello,

 

I am working on NWDS 7.0.18 Tool.

 

Unfotunately, my System got hanged. And after that, the Tool is not getting maximised. It is showing the icon of NWDS in the Task bar below side of the window. But when I try to click on it, its not maximizing the window.

When I try to right click on the icon, its showing only the option of close window.

 

I tried to open it through the Task Manager. Its showing the task as Running in the Task manager. When I right clicked on it, and selected bring to front option. It gave no response.

In Task Manager itself, When I right clicked on it, and selected the End Task option, two pop-up windows got opened. And one is for Exit Confirmation and other is the Error Window. Giving the below mentioned error.

'The System cannot end this program, because it is waiting for a response from you. To return to Windows and check the status of the Program, click cancel. If you choose to close program immidiately, you will lose any unsaved data. To end the Program now, click end now.'

 

Kindly help me out to resolve the issue. As, I am having 10 open Activities which contains huge amount of code. And I cant afford to loose those it.

Confused about versions in portal and NWDI

Hi,

Here is the scenario:

My Portal is on 7.02 SP11. when i check the http://<hostname>:<portno>/monitoring/ComponentInfo, i see the following are the versions

SAP-EU – 7.02 SP11

SAP-JEE  - 7.02 SP11

SAP-JEECOR – 7.02 SP11

SAP_ESS – 603 SP3

SAP_JTECHF – 7.02 SP11

SAP_JTECHS – 7.02 SP11

SAP_MSS – 600 SP14

SAP_PPCUI_GP – 603 SP2

 

I log into my NWDI(CMS – Transport Studio – Check in tab), click on track for Ess/Mss, i find the following details:

sap.com_SAP-EU – Release 7.00 SP14

sap.com_SAP_JEE – Release 7.00 SP14

sap.com_SAP_ESS – Release 603 SP 3

sap.com_SAP_JTECHS – Release 7.00 SP14

sap.com_SAP_MSS – Release 600 SP14

sap.com_SAPPCUI_GP – Release 603 SP3

 

Now, if i import the track from NWDI into my NWDS, customise any ESS components and deploy to my portal, would it cause any inconsistencies due to the version mismatch?

Migrating to CTS+

Hi Team,

 

Please consider this scenario.

 

1. System DE1 has SLD, DEV and NWDI and runs CMS.

2. DE* Landscape is moving to CTS+, but cannot utilize DE1 due to SLD,DEV, NWDI being on the same system (recomended No No)

3. So the responsibility of NWDI and CM Services has been given to another NWDI - TEW (SLD on TED).

 

Migration Approach (Application "POC" with history (DTR Migration)??

 

i think we can do this. let me know if its the proper thing

1. Migrate CMS from DE1 to CMS on TEW -> Switch to CM Services -> Configure CTS+

or

2. Migrate directly to CM Services on TEW which would already have CTS+.

Deploy Exception Error while Deploying DCs in NWDS 7.3

Hi

 

I have this following error while deploying the DCs into the AS Java.

 

"Deployment Exception during deployment phase [DeploymentException], cause=[ASJ.dpl_dc.001085 Operation [deploy] of [demo.sap.com_dc] failed] "

 

The DC which i created is a Dictionary DC Which contains Tables created from the entities in EJB DC.

Hi,

 

I was having problems with a component it gets corrupted I guess and I've deleted it (I never checked-in it) as follows:

  1. Reverting files from activity: under _comp and .dcref
  2. Creating new DTR client into my NWDS
  3. Deleting the folder from DTR web UI.
  4. Checking-in the activity created from DTR web UI.
  5. Activating the activity through CBS web UI.

 

Then I'm trying to create a component with the same name and the wizard gives an error: Component "XXXXX" already exists in compartment "YYYY_1"

 

Do I have to perform some other activities for deletion?

UCES 6.05 Development on NWDI 7.4

I'm currently trying to bring UCES online for a client.

I'm having issues with modifying UCES using NWDI/NWDS.

 

The environment is setup like this:

UCES on its own box with Netweaver 7.00 SP30

NWDI on its own box with Netweaver 7.4

NWDS 7.00 running with Oracle JDK 1.4.2_19

 

The track is set up as a "modification" track with SAPUCES and FSCM_BD:

I have imported all the dependent SCs except UMEADMIN since it doesn't appear on the "Check-in" tab.

 

Then I go to NWDS, download the config and try to "Sync Sources..." and get these errors:

Not sure if this is UCES specific error or because of something not setup correctly with NWDI?

Or maybe I didn't follow the correct steps?

CBS generating and compiling on 7.31 for 7.0 track

Hi  NWDI experts

 

My NWDI is based on 7.0 hosts both JDK1.4 and 1.6 for 7.0 and 7.3 tracks respectively.

 

But the CBS is generating and building 7.31 code and giving errors for a 7.0 track.

 

The Build Variant , CBS Visual Admin settings for both JDKs and Track Dependencies are looking fine. But I am not sure why CBS is generating 7.31 code and giving compile time issues for the track DCs.. may I know how can we fix these issues?

 

When I check the build log in CBS , it seems it is using WD Plugin version 7.30 SP1 to generate the source code for WD project and giving compile time issues.

NWDI: Name Conflict in Consolidation Track

Hi Experts,

 

We transported our development components from Dev(development) to Cons(consolidation) track.

It is throwing an error name conflict in CONS track.

 

I have tried to accept active version in cons track.But it was not allowing me to create an activity.

 

Error: FAILED: Checkout inactive DeltaV resource failed (Forbidden [(pre||post)-condition failed: DAV:access-denied]) 

 

Could anyone help on this issue?

Not able to see DC project in Webdynpro java perspective in 7.0

i have imported my SC into NWDI. then created project in existing DC. but cannot see that project in webdynpro java perspective.

NWDI CTS+ Integration

Hi All,

I am trying to integrate NWDI with CTS+, and i have followed the guide in doing so.

I can see CTSserver RFC destination is maintained in both VA, NWA, but the Transport Organiser link is disabled.

In my track, i maintained the CTS Upload System, but im not maintaining any runtime systems, as i want CTS+ to deploy the application.

Can any one suggest me if iam missing something?

Right now, i cannot use CTS+ to transport my code to other environments

CBS-make Failed while importing SCs from Dev to Consolidation Track in CMS

Hi Experts,

 

By mistake, we triggerd the import for the released activities from Dev to consolidation track and the import running for a long time and it is failed with the  below error. Refer the attachment.

 

The view log shows as below,

We have fixed the error in the DC and activated the new activity. Now there are no errors in the DC (no dirty DCs).

 

But still the import is not successful.

 

We have tried by Start and Stop the CBS service and it didn't make any difference

delete a dc from the track

Hi,

I created some dcs in one of the tracks and built,activated the same.

but now i want to delete those dcs.is there any way i can do that.

i tried to follow sap note:864515 but when i was doing that it says unable to delete DC(i think because activities for those dcs are already activated so i am unable to delete dcs).

 

is there anyway i can delete these dcs

please help me in resolving this problem.points will be awarded for sure

Delete DC from the track

Hi Experts,

 

I have created a DC in a Track.

 

Now i want to delete it from the track.

 

i referred to SAP note :864515.

However applying SAP note for my DCs it throws the error as "Folder or subtree contains local only files or folders"

whereas i can still see the DC deployed on the server.

 

Can you guys help me find the solution to this?

I have created some DC's in JDI and have released my activity for doing so in JDI.But now i realized that i dont want one DC any more.I want to delete this DC from the JDI track.Please tell me how should i proceed for it.Explain your reply in details.All inputs will be appreciated and rewarded.

How can I delete an old Development Component (DC)

Hello,

 

We've a sca-package with Java-WebDynpro Code and try to deploy it, but unfortunately the deployment doesn't work.

Therefore we analysed the package and remarked, that two sda-components exist.

An DevelopmentComponent with our current sources and an older DC, but nobody knows wherefrom the older DC comes.

 

We wanted to delete this od component, but we can't delete it in any way.

 

A) We tried to open the DTR as WebDav and try to delete the folder, but only the error message "Unable to delete ..." appears.

It's only possible to delete the "ative"/"inactive"-folder, not the folder of the subtree.

 

B) If we import the configuration of the track in our NWDS, and create a DC of it, the component isn't shown, so we also can't delete it in our NWDS.

 

C) I didn't find a flag to delete it in the NWDI in the CBS, CMS or DTR-websiteu2026

 

D) Following the link /people/daniel.wirbser/blog/2005/07/27/how-to-delete-development-components-in-netweaver-java-development-infrastructure-jdi it's not possible to do Step 2, because the action for the folder is disabled.

 

This Dev component exists in each folder: dev/inactiv, cons/inactiv, dev/active und cons/active-Folder.

(You can see it in the NWDS in Perspective "Development Configuration", but it also isn't possible to delete)

 

I would be glad, if you have some more suggestions.

Web Dynpro JAVA developer attempting to unravel Environmental Compliance source code seeks guidance from EC NWDS Composition Environment specialist

It frustrates me to have to ask for detailed instruction on this issue, but normal means of importing these Java-based EC software archives just aren't working in our NWDI system. We never moved our production WDJ applications to CE (like so many others we jumped straight from NW7.01 to NW7.3) but I'm doing my part to come up to speed on composition projects. No matter how we create the NWDI track and import the software archives and dependencies, we can't get to a state where we can successfully import a project (product?) from the Development Infrastructure into the Composite Explorer perspective.

 

I need to know specifically how I, an experienced WDJ developer with no exposure to CE, can take the five .SCA files that contain Environmental Compliance 3.0 and get the project into my NWDS 7.31 workspace in a workable state, on my local system, without NWDI. Actual code modifications can wait for the moment, I just need to analyze the classes and EJB's to identify where we might want to make enhancements, and where/how to use the provided Enhancement Spots. I've followed the links, downloaded the .pdf's, read the online help, stepped thru the tutorials - I've done my due dilligence. It's common knowledge that Composition Environment is no longer recommended for new development, and as the EH&S programs are converted to WDA there are even fewer resources to look to.

 

These specific types of pleas don't often return results, as I have learned over my years in this community, but nothing ventured-nothing gained, and I am no longer afraid of looking dumb or being scolded. I just need help.
